 Late nights as a

Late nights as a kid I never had mom check for monsters under the bed

My monsters never hide under the bed cause they all lived in my head

I never had the tuck in from mom cause she was always gone

Meals from TV dinners might sound bad but the brownie was always good

Rain might scare you but it made me feel less alone

Waking up might be your favorite part of the day but it was the scariest for me

Showers may refresh you but for me its when id hide from the beast

Most kids hated school me I found it as an escape

I ran from the beast on sunny days

when the whole neighborhood was outside I would run and hide

I would sit alone and ponder my thoughts

As if anyone even noticed when I was gone
